After installing the widget, run these basic tests to ensure everything is working properly and matches your dealership’s needs.

Basic Testing Checklist

Step-by-Step Testing

1. Visual Check

Open your website and verify:
  • Widget icon appears in bottom-right corner
  • Icon matches your brand colors (if customized)
  • Widget opens with smooth animation
  • Greeting message displays correctly

2. Conversation Test

Have a brief conversation with the AI:
  1. Click the widget to open chat
  2. Send a simple greeting: “Hello”
  3. Ask a few business questions:
    • “What are your hours?”
    • “Do you have any SUVs?”
    • “Can I schedule a test drive?”
What to check:
  • Responses are accurate based on your AI Playbook settings
  • Tone matches your brand
  • Information is correct (hours, inventory, services)

3. Lead Capture Test

Test the lead capture flow:
  1. Express interest in a vehicle
  2. Provide test information when prompted:
  3. Complete the conversation
Use test data only. Delete test leads from your dashboard after testing.

4. Dashboard Verification

Check your Vaile Dashboard:
  1. Go to Leads section
  2. Verify test lead appears with correct information
  3. View the conversation transcript
  4. Delete the test lead

5. Mobile Test

Test on your mobile device:
  1. Open your website on a smartphone
  2. Tap the widget icon
  3. Send a test message
  4. Verify full-screen mode works properly
  5. Check keyboard doesn’t block input field

Brand Alignment Check

Review these aspects of your AI assistant:
  • Tone: Does it sound like your brand?
  • Terminology: Uses your preferred language?
  • Policies: Mentions correct financing, trade-in, service info?
  • Hours: States accurate business hours?
